While pancakes require more time and effort than just a bowl of cereal, you can never go wrong with them – especially when you want to treat yourself, or when you have people over. If you’re spending the time making pancakes, you can always take things a step further by getting creative.
Today I made heart-shaped pancakes! They’re delicious, cute, they show extra care and effort, they’re insta-friendly, and they’re actually pretty simple to make – as long as you have a squeezy bottle.
If you want to give this a try, follow your favorite pancake recipe. The one I used is below. You’ll then want to put the batter in the squeezy bottles so that it’s easy to shape your pancakes. When they’re done, plate them, add your favorite toppings, and voila: a breakfast that will make you – and any guests you have – smile. 🙂
- 1 cup Aunt Jemima mix
- 3/4 cup Milk
- 1 Egg
- 2 tbsp Oil
In a large bowl, mix the pancake mix, milk, egg, and oil. Stir until lumps disappear.
Pour batter into squeezy bottle.
Lightly grease griddle or frying pan.
Quickly shape heart pancakes with squeezy bottle. Turn stove on, set on medium high heat. Brown on both sides and serve hot.
Add strawberries, banana slices, butter and syrup to taste.
